Redpath Australia has been selected as the preferred mining contractor for the Northparkes E22 Block Cave Development Project in Parkes, NSW. This is one of Australia's most significant underground mining developments, and we're looking for experienced Underground Charge Up Operators to join our growing team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As an Underground Charge Up Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient charging of underground development headings while working alongside experienced development crews on a world-class mining project.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely charge underground development headings
• Handle, transport and use explosives in accordance with legislative and site requirements
• Operate charge-up equipment and associated vehicles
• Complete pre-start inspections and equipment checks
• Maintain accurate blast and charging records
• Comply with all safety procedures, blast exclusion requirements and site standards
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and development crews
• Identify, report and help eliminate hazards while contributing to continuous improvement

Employment Conditions

• Full-time permanent position
• Even time roster – 14 days on / 14 days off
• FIFO from Australian capital cities, DIDO or residential options available
• Accommodation and transport provided

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as an Underground Charge Up Operator
• Current explosives handling qualifications and relevant competencies
• NSW Blasting User Explosives License (BUEL)
• Sound knowledge of underground drill and blast practices
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Current Australian working rights
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical and site requirements
